SCRIPT
The script is intended to give you an example and does not have to be read or followed exactly. We trust God to guide you by His Holy Sprit
You will notice that we say "we" rather than "I" whenever possible. This is because the calls are not about us or our leadership, they are for all of us to be encouraged by God.
1. Welcome
"Welcome to the Every Day Encouragement Call. On this call, we are all encouraged to love and live like Jesus every day! "
2. Ask to Mute Phones
"If you will mute your call from your end any time you are not talking and then un-mute when you have something you want to share or you want to express encouragement and agreement with someone who has shared."
(Note: You may need to repeat this as new people join. If anyone is not muting you can see the microphone icon beside their name lighting up green, you can mute them yourself by clicking on the microphone icon beside their name. If they do not have a mute button on their phone, they can mute and unmute themselves by pressing 4*)
3. Encouragement to Read Daily Reading
"We get encouragement from daily bible readings, and we encourage you to read at least the New Testament verses every day. You can find the verses easily at everydayencouragement.life."
4. Share Scripture and Encouragement to Love and Live Like Jesus
"LORD, thank you for your word in the bible and the way that you use it to encourage us to love and live like Jesus. Please speak to every one of us as we read your word."
"We are going to read from from (Reference)..."
Read the passage and comment briefly on how the passage Encourages to all of us to love and live like Jesus.
5. Pray for everyone by name
After brief comments. Pray a prayer of encouragement over each person on the call by name.
6. Introduce the PRAY pattern
After the prayer of encouragement, introduce the PRAY pattern we will follow during the call.
"In our time together we follow a simple pattern using the letters, P.R.A.Y. to guide us. First, we will Praise God. Next, we will Repent. Then we will Ask for ourselves and others. And finally, we will Yield to God."
"Again, if you will mute your phone from your end and keep it muted when you are not speaking. But please unmute and share with us when you have something to share and unmute after someone else has shared to give them support and encouragement with yes, amen, true that or other expressions of encouragement."
7. Encourage Praise
"So now, let's share our Praise to God. In the silence, think about who God is and all He has done, and as you think of the ways you have seen God's goodness in His word or in your life, please unmute and share it with all of us!"
(Don't be afraid of silence. People will need some silence to think and get their thoughts together before they share. Resist the temptation to speak just to fill the silence.)
After someone does share... express agreement or support with "yes", "thank you", "Amen" Etc. You can pray briefly in agreement with their praise or simply ask, "Who else has a praise?"
8. Encourage Repentance
After a time of praise, introduce the time of Repentance...
"Now we have the gift of a time of Repentance. This is a time when we can share anything we need to repent from or stop doing. We also share any challenges or temptation we are facing. So, in the silence, let God bring these things to our minds, possibly through our bible reading this morning or from your daily life, and when he does, please have the honesty and humility to unmute your phone and share it with us, because you can be sure that you are not the only one with the challenges you face and others will be encouraged along with you. And after others have shared, unmute your phone to express your support and encouragement for them. "
(Again, don't be afraid of silence. People will need some silence to think and get their thoughts together before they share. Resist the temptation to speak just to fill the silence.)
After someone does share, express your support and assurance that we all face similar challenges. Also offer words of encouragement that these things will be overcome.
9. Encourage Asking
After a time of Repentance, introduce a time to Ask...
"Now we have the blessing and privilege to ask of God whatever we need to ask for ourselves and others. Who has something that we can help you in asking God for today?"
(Again, don't be afraid of silence.)
10. Lead in Yielding
After a time of Repentance, introduce our time of Yielding.
"Now we come to our favorite part of our time together: the time when we Yield to God. We surrender to His will and HIs purposes in our lives, and we yield in obedience to all that He has spoken to us in His word today."
"So, now LORD, we offer every part of ourselves to you. Please put your love in our hearts for everyone we will encounter today. Help us to love and live like Jesus this day and every day. Help us to show your love in our actions and share your love with our words. Show us who we are to help and encourage with Your words today. "
(Note: you may want to pray over each person again by name during this prayer of yielding)
11 Pray for Multiplication
"LORD, we pray that you will multiply these encouragement calls until everyone has the blessing of what we have shared today. In Jesus' Name, Amen."
12. Remind Them of EveryDayEncouragement.life
"We are so glad you were with us today. If you want to learn more about encouragement calls, like finding the daily readings or starting an encouragement call for people in your life, go to everydayencouragement.life"
13. Invite Words of Blessing and Encouragement
"Now, let's take a moment, all that the same time to speak a word of encouragement and blessing over everyone on the call..."
Say your own words of encouragement and blessing. Before hanging up, wait to see if anyone stayed on the line. If someone has stayed on, ask them if they have a question or something they would like to pray about.
14. End Call
End the call and log out of the management system.
